Website Quality

What is it, why do you need it and…
What do you need to do?

Google’s criteria
From Google’s point of view, Website Quality is based on the following criteria

  • 5 pages at the absolute minimum – BUT getting 5 pages up is not necessarily the best way to go. It will give you a quality score less than a larger site and it takes time for Google to raise the score once it is established
  • The site should also have
    • A privacy policy
    • A contact us page
    • A site map
    • A terms of use page
  • The home page should have no direct link to a sales page – there should be at least one intermediate page
  • Your site needs links to it from other sites – aka backlinks. The better the page ranking of the site that links to you, the better your page rank will be
  • Is not a duplicate of anything else on the web – Google does check this and will not return results for more than one site with the same content
  • Has content added periodically
  • And finally, domain age – which is the one thing you cannot control

… and your criteria
From your point of view it needs to

  • Maximise the number of visitors
  • Retain those visitors and make them into repeat visitors
  • Maximize income from of those visitors
